Waste Management

At Okada Manila, we are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact through comprehensive waste management strategies focused on reducing, reusing, and recycling.

We conduct detailed audits, employ advanced recycling facilities, and implement on-site composting. We segregate waste at the source, working closely with facilities management to analyze and divert waste resort-wide.

We have transitioned to eco-friendly packaging, upcycle old uniforms, and use biodegradable materials for cleaning supplies. Our operations utilize recyclable materials, and we are digitizing processes to cut down on paper use.

All amenities and packaging have shifted to sustainable options, and we have introduced reusable and biodegradable bags to phase out plastics. We recycle single-use plastic bottles and comply with the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022.

Furthermore, we manage e-waste responsibly, adhering to stringent environmental and data security standards, and are transitioning to wooden key cards to replace plastic room keys.

Energy Efficiency

We prioritize energy efficiency and the promotion of renewable energy.

Our smart systems optimize lighting, heating, and cooling based on occupancy, and we integrate solar panels and renewable technologies to decrease reliance on non-renewable sources, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Our facility features efficient air circulation systems, and rooms utilize DigiValet technology to conserve energy.
We consolidate shipments to save fuel and reduce our carbon footprint.

By switching off lights and turning off air conditioning when not in use, we achieve significant electricity savings, aiming for 100% LED lighting across all outlets.

Additionally, we use high-efficiency slot machines to reduce power consumption on the casino floor, and we have replaced diesel with LPG in our laundry operations to cut air pollution.

Water Conservation

We utilize graywater recycling systems for irrigation and non-potable purposes, significantly reducing water consumption.

High-efficiency fixtures and appliances are installed to minimize water wastage. Our sewage treatment plant recycles all wastewater for cooling, flushing, and irrigation, achieving zero wastewater discharge to Manila Bay.

Additionally, our waterless car wash service uses high-lubricity sprays that require little to no water, and our in-house laundry employs water-saving wash programs that maximize load capacity for efficient use of water, chemicals, and time.
