By reaching out to local communities and supporting meaningful initiatives, the program reflects the spirit of the season in a way that uplifts lives and inspires change.
Nurturing Creativity and Sustainability
At the Enchanting Christmas Village, the Okada Green Heart Booth served as a beacon of sustainable living and Filipino creativity. Running until January 5, 2025, the booth featured a curated selection of locally crafted products, from clothing to eco-friendly holiday ornaments, created in partnership with PhilStar Media Group’s NakakaLocal micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Likhaan creators. Through these efforts, Okada Manila highlighted its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, inspiring thoughtful holiday choices.
Additionally, Okada Manila donates used soaps and linens, which Fresh Hope for Families Philippines Inc., Urban Poor Associates, and the Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies (PHILSSA) upcycle into new items via its partnership with Diversey Philippines under the “Soap for Hope” and “Linen for Life” programs. Spreading Joy Through Connection
Okada Manila celebrated the holidays by fostering meaningful connections through heart-warming events. In partnership with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the resort hosted a Read-Along Session, uniting children from the Virlanie Foundation and seniors from the Santa Maria Josefa Home for the Aged in the joy of storytelling. Professional storytellers and a celebrity guest created an engaging atmosphere, inspiring a love for reading and bridging generations. The event included sharing of hearty meals, games for the children, and relaxing massages for the elderly by The Retreat Spa. It concluded with gift-giving, a spectacular Fountain show, and a visit to the Enchanting Christmas Village, leaving participants with cherished holiday memories.
Young athletes from Football Club Bilibid, comprising of children of wardens and persons deprived of liberty, enjoyed a day of play and camaraderie at Thrillscape. The adventure enthusiasts braved the 32 high-energy obstacles guided by athletic coaches, and were treated to a viewing of the Fountain show, creating a sense of empowerment for these children during the festive season.
For the 40 children from New Faith Children’s Home and Agape Orphanage Foundation, and young cancer warriors, the holidays became a magical experience at the PLAY Kids’ Club. The day was filled with endless fun, educational games, and wonderful storytelling led by celebrity guest Iñigo Pascual. This activity added extra Christmas cheer, and brought the community together, while building compassion in everyone’s hearts.
A Symbol of Love and Care
The holiday outreach culminated with a toy drive for the children of Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City. Throughout December, Okada Manila team members came together to collect donations, which were distributed to bring smiles and warmth to young hearts. This initiative reflected Okada Manila’s commitment to uplifting its neighbouring communities and giving them a reason to celebrate this season.
